Sergio Escobar
NATURE EXPEDITIONS
I was born in the city of Manizales (Caldas, Colombia) on June 24, 1987; I had the good fortune to study in a country school called Colegio Franciscano Agustín Gemelli, which I graduated in 2003. The fact of having studied in a rural school, I believe, was a fundamental part to instill in me the pasion for exploring and observing nature. This passion encouraged me to study biology at the University of Caldas. During this university stage I entered inside the world of scientific research, a fact that aroused a great passion for wildlife and scientific expeditions in different parts of Latin America. I finished my undergraduate studies in 2011.
Later in 2014 I started my Master's degree in Conservation and Wildlife Management in the Instituto Internacional de Conservacion y Manejo de Vida Silvestre (ICOMVIS) of the National University of Costa Rica. I finished my master's studies in 2017. During my career as a professional biologist I have had the opportunity to implement research projects related to the conservation and management of wildlife in different countries of Latin America (see scientific publications).​

Currently I am working in the area of scientific nature tourism in Colombia and Costa Rica.
